Our research is dedicated towards the development of novel catalytic methods to improve functional group tolerance, selectivities and sustainability compared to conventional non-catalytic approaches. Additionally, these newly established protocols are applied in the synthesis of bioactive compounds such as pharmaceuticals and natural products. Eventually, mechanistic elucidations allow for a deepened understanding, which inspires further innovative developments.
A German webpage is also available.
We are looking for new, prospective group members. If you are interested in organic chemistry, method development and synthesis of bioactive substances, you are very welcome to contact us (peter.huy[at]uni-rostock.de). Topics for Bachelor theses, practical courses, Master theses and research internships are available.
